Three years ago today, the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust invited me to its revered Robie House on the University of Chicago campus to speak about my creative process.
"Other You" podcast –– which paints alternate stories imagining people's paths not taken –– featured Jean Williams of Jean Williams Studio and takes an interesting jaunt through her creative journey.
At Jean Williams Studio, creativity is the point and the bottom line. Through the long lens of time, I can finally appreciate how much art and creativity have meant in my life. I wish I could return to childhood! We didn't know how good we had it then. Even the diminutive sizes of children lend themselves to creativity. Being closer to the ground, for one, often means being closer to the good stuff -- flowers in gardens, baubles dropped on sidewalks, insects that we're not yet terrified of, doggies to pet ... mud even. Or, mud especially!
